Before FlashPro can be used with the factory ECU, your Honda Civic Type R ECU must be jailbroken. This is a one-time procedure and is required for all 2017–2025 models. 

• 2017–2019 Civic Type R FK8: Use Hondata’s Instant Jailbreak Service via their website (one-time $250 fee).
  
  
• 2020–2021 Civic Type R FK8: These models require the Hondata Jailbreaker module to temporarily bypass the CAN gateway and allow for the instant jailbreak process.
