VTEC Slayer proudly offers professional in-house ECU Unlocking and Jailbreak Service, with an optional ECU Cloning Service, to make your vehicle fully compatible with Hondata FlashPro and KTuner Flash V1.2/V2 tuning solutions.

Unlocking (also known as jailbreaking) is required before any Bosch ECU found in the 2017+ Honda Civic Type R or 2024+ Acura Integra Type S can be tuned.

How to Send Your ECU

Please ship your ECU—removed from the black plastic holder—securely packaged to the address provided on your receipt from your order. It will be emailed to you.

Include inside your package:

• A printed copy of your invoice
• Your contact information
• Your return shipping address

Your ECU will only be returned to the address you provide at checkout.

If your ECU is shipped with the plastic mounting tray still attached, a $50 surcharge will be added for additional labor and increased shipping weight.

International customers who live outside the USA please contact us for a shipping quote.

Return Shipping

• Overnight shipping is available at checkout.
• Standard ground shipping is included (lower 48) when overnight is not selected.

Optional ECU Cloning Service

Want to keep your original locked factory ECU untouched while still enjoying full tuning capability? Our ECU Cloning Service provides the perfect solution.

We will:

1. Extract all data from your original locked ECU.
2. Clone that data onto a donor ECU that is unlocked and ready for tuning.
3. Return both the original ECU (unmodified/locked) and the unlocked cloned donor ECU ready for tuning.

Donor ECU Compatibility

• FK8 Civic Type R:
  Must be cloned to a donor ECU with the exact same part number (current requirement as of Dec. 2025).
  
  
• FL5 Civic Type R & DE5 Integra Type S:
  ECUs are interchangeable and can be cross-cloned.
  • As of December 2025:
  • Integra Type S ECU 37820-6PV-A03 is typically much cheaper new than the FL5 Civic Type R ECU 37820-66V-A03.

Shipping Instructions for Cloning

Ship both ECUs, clearly labeled as:

• Original (Locked)
• Donor (To Be Unlocked & Cloned)

Both must be removed from their plastic holders.
