Customer Spotlight: David’s 2025 Acura Integra Type S – Built to Rule the Redline

Meet David from Apollo Beach, Florida — a proud father, dedicated U.S. veteran, and passionate car enthusiast. When he’s not spending quality time with his family, you’ll find him behind the wheel of his pride and joy: a 2025 Acura Integra Type S (DE5).

Like many of us, David wanted more than just a daily driver — he wanted a high-performance machine that stood out both in style and on the street.

The Beginning of the Build

David reached out to us with a clear vision: turn his already impressive Integra Type S into a street-slaying, head-turning performance car. We were more than happy to help.

The first step? Unlocking the car’s true potential. We recommended starting with the Hondata FlashPro — the go-to tuning device for modern Honda and Acura performance builds. But there was a twist: the DE5’s ECU comes locked from the factory, preventing any tuning until it's unlocked.

Fortunately, we’ve got the tools and expertise to handle that. We successfully unlocked David’s DE5 ECU, setting the stage for FlashPro tuning and future mods.

From Mild to Wild: Performance Mods Galore

With the ECU unlocked and the FlashPro installed, David wasted no time diving into serious performance upgrades. Here’s the mod list that now lives under the hood:

This build isn’t just fast — it’s smart. With the CANFlex kit, David can run ethanol blends for cooler combustion, improved knock resistance, and more power. Combined with airflow upgrades, a robust intercooler, and improved engine mounts for torque control, David’s Integra Type S is likely making 380+ WHP — though we’ll have to get it on a dyno to confirm!

The Next Phase: Heat Management

Now that power is dialed in, David is focusing on keeping things cool under pressure. He came back to us looking for the best thermal management solutions, and after reviewing our in-house test results and customer feedback, he chose to go with our Hard-Lagged thermal blankets and heat shields — trusted solutions for keeping engine bay temps in check during spirited driving or extended pulls.
